Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Happiness

Okay so I was waiting to update you all on this because I wanted to give it time and make sure there was really something to share.  Back in August I went up to Canada for Caleb and Amanda Cox's wedding.  It was a blast to drive up with Caleb and Nick Tarte.  We got there on Wednesday before the wedding that Saturday.  Not too many people were there that early but one of Amanda's good friends Anna Markle also came up early.  She was doing a lot with the decorating and setting up of the reception.  She arranged all the flowers and sang also in the ceremony itself.  Naturally Nick, Anna, and I spent some time hanging out while Caleb and Amanda ran around getting stuff ready.  I was a blast.  Anna and I have long known of each other and we've had many friends in common, but never spent any time with each other.  To make a long story short we've keep in contact after Canada.  She's living in OKC working at TAParchitecture.  This talking spawned a date when I travelled down to OKC to visit friends and family.  I was very nervous about this not even sure if it was a good idea but it turned out grrrreat!  So good in fact that then she came and saw me last weekend here in Topeka.  It was one of the best weekends of my life.  She got to see me in my "natural habitat" and I got to share with her some of the things I really enjoy, including disc golf, my church family, and watching movies on my big TV.  haha.

So for all of those who were praying for God to lead someone into my path, thank you.  Our prayers have been answered.  For those who were worried about me and my singleness.  You need not worry now.  I'm officially dating Anna Markle and I couldn't be happier.  Please though keep praying that things will go well and that we can handle the distance appropriately.  Don't ask me where this relationship is going because I don't know.  Anna will tell you that I came out of nowhere in her life and I certainly wasn't going to Canada to find a girlfriend.  haha.  So only God knows what He has in store.

  • My Urban Identity

So this is my name as defined by urbandictionary.com

    Twig
A tall goon-ish character with long arms and long legs who never fails to make his friends laugh. Twig is a handsome, loathsome brute yet I can't take my eyes off of him!

  • Christ's Ambassadors

I just want to say that I'm very proud to be a part of my generation.  Why?  Because I have so many peers who have dedicated themselves to doing specific mission or ministry work for the Lord.  Now obviously being a bible major in college meant I made friends with other bible majors but actually most of the people I'm refering to are non-bible majors.  Currently I have friends doing mission work in China, Australia, Korea, Mexico, and Honduras.  I have a friend who just got back from Germany and another who just got back from Australia.  I have one friend who just entered the AIM (Adventures In Missions) program in August.  There are also countless others who I'm not as well acquainted with but who are out there giving of themselves so others can see God.  And then of course there are all my bible major/youth ministry friends.

What I'm trying to say is THANK YOU!  We may feel small and insignificant sometimes but please realize that together we really are changing the world!  You, me and all those around the world who are putting aside our wants and desires and fighting for God's love will not go unnoticed.  Sure we may never make the headlines and our names may not be recognized world round like Billy Graham or Rick Warren, but our impact will be immeasurable and I can guarantee that God our Father knows each of us by name and we bring a huge smile to His face.
